What it looks like
It is reportedly an upright column that branches freely at the base, the branches 60 to 90 centimeters (2 to 3 feet) high and five to six centimeters (about 2 inches) thick, with ten to fifteen rounded ribs and stiff, sharp spines that start amber-yellow to brown and turn gray with age.
The name
The International Plant Names Index records Trichocereus spachianus Riccob. as a validly published name, first published in 1909.
Where it grows wild
It has reportedly been collected in the wild in Bolivia.
