The longer version

It was reportedly introduced by Darren of The Succulent Source and named for Darren's father, Jim. The one caution growers repeat is reportedly that it marks up more easily than most: black mold and humidity spotting show on it sooner, particularly in a humid greenhouse.

It is reportedly treated as a clone in its own right rather than a seed-grown , with a community book known as TTC pointed to for the fuller history.
