SS04 continues the Sacred Succulents numbering, and that is the one thing the number genuinely tells you: SS is a California nursery's own prefix, the same series behind SS01, SS02 and SS03. A Californian nursery sells SS04 under the chalaensis label, which is a second, independent record of the labelling a specialist reference already documents, and describes it as having honey-brown spines where the other plants it sells as chalaensis have red-black ones. The label is recorded as a label: this source's species words are shelf shorthand and this library does not take a species from it.Reported, but not confirmed.
