El Serpiente is reportedly a melty, blocky bridgesii-type whose mother stand belongs to a Southern Californian grower known as Cactus Ron.

- Reportedly very melty growth that often falls to four ribs.
- Growth habit
- Reportedly fast and normal-looking when grafted, slow and on its own roots — one clone, two very different plants. Also reportedly fast and largely trouble-free; grafted it runs up tall quickly, while on its own roots it terminates and stacks in the manner of TBM. Reportedly blocky, with many four-rib sections ending in short six to eight inch segments that then re-pup from the tip, building a bushy stand.
