Mel/vin is reportedly a garden name rather than a single : it points at the mother plants of one Los Angeles grower from the forum era, and covers at least two different plants — a that leans toward and sometimes growth, and a that often makes four-ribbed columns.

The longer version

One plant in circulation carries a label saying its seed was sown around 2014 or 2015 and came from Chris Reeb, who is reported to have described the as a revert off a monstrose plant.

In a 2017 forum post the grower said the collection held pachanoi that leaned monstrose plus a bridgesii form of which roughly half the columns had four ribs, and that the bridgesii was the likelier source of the sent on.
