Rosei 1 is reportedly a selection with two things going for it: short spines and an unusually strong blue-gray bloom.

Family line

Reportedly raised from seed by one family and then selected; the individual parent plants are not named.

The longer version

Reportedly, Ralph Field separated the results into two selections, numbered 1 and 2.

Both numbered selections are described as coming from the Fields collection in Victoria, Australia, which reached the country through Mr Field's backing of a South American collecting expedition.

Where it comes from

Reportedly, the plant came out of seed raised by the Field family.

Reportedly an exceptionally blue, distinctive enough to be the selection's main point.
