Reportedly a with heavy blue , thick columns and deeply notched ribs. Both forms grow in this yard, the plain Althea and the variegated one, which is marbled rather than striped; tip grafts of the variegated one are kept going to harvest for other grafting projects.Seen in my own yard.

The longer version

Its reportedly reads as almost single for a peruvianus: the radials stay short and, in a shaded garden, the centrals barely show at all, while a plant in steady direct sun still puts out spines of two to three inches.

Exceptionally blue farina is listed as one of its defining features, on thick, deeply notched columns.
Growth habit
Areoles are described as fat and woolly on thick growth.
The top of a column where broad cream-yellow patches run down the blue-green ribs, set off from the plain green stem below by a clear ring, with short orange-brown spines and a few brown scabs on the lower areoles.
